Volunteering with our group can mean anything from spending a few minutes every few months on an administrative task to running section meetings. As a leader / assistant we would also offer exciting opportunities for your own development and to gain the most out of Scouting.
We have the below vacancies in particular:
- Group Chairperson
- Assistant Scout Group Leader
- Section Leader Assistance
- Section Leaders
We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to help us support the children in our area, and would ask you to complete the form at the bottom of this page.
Next steps
If you are interested in becoming a Leader or Sectional Assistant you will require to attend an informal meeting with the Group Scout Leader Kenneth McDonald who will discuss the following topics:
- The structure of Scouting both locally and within the Region/District.
Information regarding the various sections within the Group. - The opportunities within the Group.
- The training requirements of Leaders.
- The District Appointments Committee involvement in your becoming a Leader.
If you then decide to apply to become a Leader an application form and a PVG form for an enhanced disclosure will be available for you to complete.
To complete a PVG form the applicant will require to bring three forms of identity:
Passport / Driving Licence (picture) / recent Utility Bill (Also required is your National Insurance number )
If you already have an enhanced PVG for working with children you will require the documents above and your PVG membership number.
If, after the meeting, you decide that you would like to experience a meeting at a relevant section this can then be organised by the GSL.
If you would be interested in helping at any of the sections please contact the Group Scout Leader Kenneth McDonald who would be very pleased to arrange a meeting with you at the Scout Hall.
